The Abu Qir Metro Project is a 21.7 km electrified metro system being delivered in partnership with Colas Rail Egypt. The line will connect Downtown Alexandria to Abu Qir through 20 stations, supporting the modernization of Egypt’s urban transportation and railway infrastructure.

Construction is progressing across the elevated and at-grade track sections, stations, and depot facilities. The project is set to enhance mobility, reduce travel times, and provide a modern, efficient public transportation system for Alexandria.

The Abu Qir Metro builds on Orascom Construction’s involvement on all lines of Greater Cairo Metro since the 1980s.
